Nathaniel, an artist, bought his home at auction and made it liveable for his family through years of hands-on work. In 2023, he was ready to transform it—with a loft extension and kitchen side extension to create a self-contained rental unit that could later be used by his growing family.

I worked with him to test layout options for the loft—stair, bathroom, kitchen—balancing functionality with minimal disruption to the first floor. I prepared the certificate of lawfulness drawings and a detailed tender package. I introduced Nathaniel to my trusted team of structural engineers and builders, and he mostly took it from there! He managed the party wall agreement, building control application, selection of finishes, and the day to day collaboration on site. I was a phone call away to help with tricky technical questions that came up, and advise on internal layout and finishes.
