Home for a New Chapter

Bembridge, Isle of Wight, 2023

Zoe and Mark had recently retired and moved into a welcoming home with a big garden, planning to share it with their daughter, grandson. They asked me to help explore options for a ground floor extension and reconfigured layout to support their lifestyle.

The brief: create a flow of space for family gatherings, a boot room to foster their big walks, clear “cat” and “no-cat” zones, private bedrooms, and stronger garden connections.

Through sketches and calls, we refined the entrance location and proposed a “grand hall” that connected all zones while managing privacy and pets. We also tested logical extension footprints in harmony with the existing roofline and views. With a clear design strategy in place, Zoe and Mark developed planning drawings locally.
